Hello everyone.I have been selected for articleship at Prakash Kochhar firm at Chennai in the Management Consulting department.I would like to know the following things:-

1.What is exactly the work in the management consulting?

2.What kind of work exposure will I get in Prakash Kocchar if anyone has done articleship from here?

3.What are the career prospects for an article having Management Consulting as the work experience?

I want to go for CFA in the time to come after CA.So will management consulting help to cater to the need of CFA in any way??

Hi Sanat,I have read your articles earlier.You've got great English vocab and grammar.

1.First things first,what managementconsulting involves?Don't you think you should've asked CA what kind of work you would be entrusted with in that line of work.Let me tell you what I know.CAs know nothing about Management Consulting. I love how that word sounds.Mngt Consulting is about thinking out of the box.CA institute think CAs are complete business solution provider, but they don't know the meaning of it.Please anyone don't say that since CAs study tax,Audit, Finance,risk management, blah blah,that makes them so.So lame.

2.I would suggest call that firm to know your role.I think they'll make you work on internal audits,bank Audit etc and taxation work under the garb of management consulting. Also ask if they would allow Industrial training.

3.Since Articleship is not counted as work ex,you cannot count on it.

Lasttime,I read your post about starting your Articleship in Gurgaon.What happened?RG Sharma &Co.,Delhi(www.emgpl.com)have vacancies. Check that out.I've compiled a list of firms based on Finance work.If u want,I can e-mail you but they are around Delhi.One is in Bangalore Vasan &Sampath
