hiii rahul bhai....how r u??? answering ur question...cfa is different n cfp is different....cfa deals with equity portfolio managemnt etc but whereas cfp deals with financial planning....both have good prospects in india...but stritly speaking doing cfa is quite expensive then cfp...for having done ur ca u wil get many exemptions in cfp....but telling u frankly....completing the whole cfa n holding a CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST degree is the main one...there are many people having done cfa evel 1 n 2....i guess ca + cfa will be a cracking option....making a hell lot of money....i ur ca + cfp u can still making handsome money...but u mostly deal with financial planning issues....best wishes....

Fine Anand.........Thanks a lot Dude,,,,,,U really explain well.........Best Wishes For Your Future........Take Care

Hi Rahul and Anand,

As atated by Anand, CFA fairly deals with Equity research and Portfolio Management only with a Top Down approach (with the Global Recession, this method is considered the worst). CFP on the other hand is not only concerned with Financial Planning but also includes Asset Management and Wealth Management to a great Extent. The demand for people expert in Wealth Management is rising in an emerging Market like India.

CFA certainly is a better option when it comes down to earning a whole lot of money after being hired by top guns and top IBs, but, CA + CFP adds a far more value to the core knowledge of Taxation and Finance which is itself included in the CA curriculum designed by the ICAI.

Sorry Anand, I might be wrong but I would suggest Rahul to go for CA + CFP instead. Also, CFP, as was mentioned by Anand, gives you a lot of 'exemptions' after having completed the prestigious course of Chartered Acoountancy. CFA after CA, to my opinion, shall reduce the lust of the very course of CA.

I myelf am also doing CA + CFA but I wish to take up CFP in near future too.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me  which calculator is better for easy operation out of the two approved  by CFA Institute USA  for CFA Exams. And also tell me the price of the two approved calculators.

Satyanarayana Lakamsani.

CFAI has approved 2 calculators for the exam:

1. HP 12C

2. TI BA II Plus (including BA II Plus Professional)

The functions associated with BA II plus are easy to understand and learn while it takes a lot of time to have a command over HP 12C because the functions keys are a bit cumbersome in nature. Hence, I would advice to go for TI BA II Plus only if you are a beginner unless you may opt for HP 12C, if you have a command over it.
