Capital gains tax for enhanced compensation received after land act 2015

Others 197 views 1 replies

Our non agricultural land got acquired in 2014 with compensation received during that year. As per land act/income tax rules prevalent at that time, the capital gains were taxable. The land act was then passed in 2015 exempting acquired land from capital gains tax. We received enhanced compensation in 2019 for the land acquired in 2014. Will the changes in tax due to land act 2015 apply to the enhanced compensation - which means no capital gains payable for the enhanced compensation since it was received after land act as passed
