Dear experts, I have something to know. My father is a senior citizen. Recently a plot of land in the name my father has been acquisitioned by the government and paid a compensation amount of Rs.2,60,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Sixty Thousand). At the time of payment TDS has been deducted @ 10%. My question is that whether my father shall have to pay Capital Gains tax ? if so how much ? If my father files IT returns only showing is actual income which is Rs.60,000/- (sixty thousand) per annum and claims the refund of TDS then whether he shall get the refund amount simply or shaall he have to pay capital gains tax at the time of filing return. Kindly answer. Thanks
