Can we take ITC of Pooja & festival expense

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether Input Tax Credit (ITC) can be claimed for Pooja and festival expenses. Generally, if these expenses are directly related to business purposes, not capital expenditure, and not personal, they can be claimed as a deduction under Section 37(1) of the Act. However, ITC cannot be claimed if these expenses are not used in providing taxable services. Case law support may be beneficial.

The expenditure incurred in the maintenance/ pooja expenses which is wholly and exclusively connectable with the purposes of the business and is not in the nature of capital expenditure or personal expenses, the same can be claimed as deduction under section 37(1) of the Act.

so ITC can be claimed.

ITC can't be claimed on Pooja & festival expenses since those are not used in providing taxable services.

You may take the support of case laws if any
