Can CA and CWA form partnership firm together and do tax consultant practice

Hi Colleges and practising members,

Please tell me whether CA and CWA can form partnership firm and provide the tax consultancy service together to the client.

and also please tell me can both do their practice separately as proprietor and form tax consultant firm.

please cooperate and resolve my queries.

yes they can...it is allowed now

No, it is not possible for a member of CA/CMA/CS Institute holding a Certificate of Practice to join hand with other professional stream members like Cost Accountants, Company Secretaries, Advocates (licence from BCI) etc. There was a proposal for Multi Disciplinary firms to coming into existence abd to work collectively, but for some reason it has not happened till date.

However, you can explore the second option of having seperate line of Practice as proprietors.

Sathish is it not possible to form a tax consultant office and provide other than cost audit and statutory audit services to client.
As I aware LLP between this two professional not allowed.

You can form a Tax consultancy firm and provide services. The limited point which I was making was in terms of Members holding COP as of today cannot enter into partnership.
