Hi all...Iam a CA Final Students...and have no idea about CA placements.

Please can somebody give me a general idea about ICAI campus placements?

My Querise:

1. Is is compulsory to complete GMCS/4 week residential programme to be eligible for campus?

2. Do all companies conduct a written test for selecting candidates?

3. What is asked in Personal Interview?

4.Everyone keeps talking about 'Big 5'. I get it 'Big 5' refers to top 5 companies for qualified CA's to get recruited by...but which are the big 5?!?

1. It is recommended that you complete articleship and GMCS before placement starts because companies will not want to wait for you to complete that before you join.

2. Most of the companies don't conduct a written test, only a few of them do. A few even go for a GD before a PI, but for almost 50% companies, its a direct PI round after they shortlist you.

3. In the PI, you will be asked general questions about your articleship experience, some technical questions on accounting standards, taxation, SFM, etc., and also about your hobbies and interests in general.

4. The Big 4 audit firms who hire lots of CA's are KPMG (BSR & Co.), Ernst & Young (SR Batliboi & Co.), Deloitte and PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC).

Good luck for your exams. Concentrate on exams right now, don't think about placements at present! :)
