Well, first of all, the major job market for CAs is in India, so no point in comparing the international salaries. If u want to compare, do it on the basis of domestic salary. Average domestic salary is around 10-12 lacs for an IITian(although, for computer science passouts,it shall be higher). A rankholder CA(with decent articleship exposure and good enough communication skills),on an average, can easily get the same salary. So where is the huge salary difference that u are talking about?? Now if u want to compare the salary of ordinary CAs with engineers, do it with engineers graduating from ordinary colleges. Majority of the ordinary engineering graduates get recruited as software professionals for just 3-4 lacs p.a. I know many engineers who are struggling to find a job and some who are working for a pay as low as 3k p.m.
Pls understand that every profession is good. If u work hard in ur line of work, sooner or later, u will reap the benefits. Just bcoz somebody is earning better than u, it doesnt mean u are inferior to that guy. Just get all such thoughts out of ur mind. Be confident about yourself and the course u are pursuing.
P.S. A significant part of the 2 crore salary, which u hv mentioned above, shall be in the form of stock benefits(which gets vested only after remaining in the job for a certain period). Furthermore, it is just a one-time payment and u cant expect to get 2 crore every year. For example, the base pay offered by Facebook is only Rs.65 lacs while Rs62 lacs is in the form of stock benefits and the remaining part of the total salary is given as a one-time incentive. So the real salary is only Rs.65 lacs, the rest being merely one time payments. Even that figure isnt the take home salary. The other issue is the purchasing power parity. Salary of Rs.65 lacs in a country like US cant in anyway be comparable to an equivalent salary in, lets say, a country like Saudi Arabia. So, the location of ur job also matters a lot when we make a comparison of salary. Also, these hefty pays which make headlines arent in anyway representative of the salary that majority of the IITians get. Only a very few in IITs manage to get this kind of salary.

Yes, every course has their own importance and every job role has its own pay scale. Most of engineering students are jobless and work for a very less pay than a daily labour to be frank (though not in all cases) because of the poor subject knowledge they hold and most of the students doesn't know why they are learning engineering. I can say students who choose different courses other than Engineering, in India, are good at self thinking. Lot of engineering colleges and lack of knowledge pulling students to choose Engineering
