One of my friend registered in PE-II in 2004 and given two attempts but failed to pass the exam n left the course. Now he again wants to pursue the course under new direct entry scheme. My question is whether he should opt for fresh registration under direct entry scheme or go for conversion from PE-II to IPCC?.. Plz suggest

If he had not completed articleship course then direct entry scheme would be better, and if he has completed articleship then both courses will be same for him.

I guess we were allowed to give only 5 attempts to clear PE II. Since the registration is of 2004 the limit has already lapsed and your friend has to apply for fresh registration now.

Yes i P E II only 5 attempts and P E II is no more now... and earlier articles only after completing of P E II so no question of completing of artilces.... so if he has completed his degree he can directly join into CA...

yes i agree wit satish kumar....bt if ur fnd converted to ipcc he is eligible for directly articles nd after six months only he is eligible to write ipcc exams nd ther is no attempt limits in ipcc bt these all thngs all applicable only if he had qualified in his graduation (if it is b.com required 60% nd any other 55%)....

pe-II is not longer applicable, he has to apply for fresh registeration in direct scheme .

I think earlier, to get registered in PE-II one should complete graduation.

There were two options to get registered in PE II 1) Either u pass PE I or 2) u have completed ur grad..

Fresh Registration Under direct Entry is required..

5 years have already elapsed  Now he need to get new registration no only as per my knowledge.

in my opinion, the direct entry scheme will be fruitful to your frind as it is smethng fresh & new!!!!!!!
