Is 5 months of study is enough for passing CA FINAL Exam without any coaching. Pls. Suggest me the ref. books for practical papers and Auidting......Thanks

Buy latest PM's of all the Subjects. For audit...go with institute study mtrl or padhuka. PM's doesn't contain all the past year questions..it may contain just 30 to 40% of past year questions. Now icai has released new compilers for FR, sfm, audit, AMA. Contains exam questions from may2003 to nov13 exam questions n answers. So it has covered 20 exams. As of now only, soft copies has already available at icai's students bos knowledge portal area..go inside subject wise. But, now only dont take print of this..wait for sometime, they may release hard copy of the same.

In munish bhandari, in this edition sm of the sections given wrong n amendments part not updated at all on few of the places. Am saying this after I cross checked with institute modules only. For instance: Declaration by independent director..correct section is sec 149(7) but in munish book...sub section is wrongly quoted. So wait for the new edition. But, for law, parallelly buy institute study module for law..this book is a must for law..its a very good law module from icai.

Isca: Institute study mtrl is too gud for isca. Dinesh madan is good for understanding the IT process/points but those sentences won't fetch u more marks. Try to get xerox of Dinesh madan book from any of ur friend to understand the concepts then stick with institute mtrl. Surely u can score 60+ from institute study mtrl, if u prepare well.

Greetings Nitin,

4 to 4 and a half month is enough even to score a rank in C.A final (subject to ur on leave in this period).
U just need to study 10-11 hrs effectively everyday

Since u have not enrolled with any classes , go ahead and prepare using authors books

PLEASE NOTE : MODULES,P.M and RTP is a must irrespective of fact dat whichever author book u r using.

Also note that supplementary released by institute also be referred for latest amendments in Law,DT,IDT, audit etc

Few authors i would suggest is :

F.R - M.P vijaykumar

A.S - Rawat ( Most people use it) OR M.P.Vijaykumar ( Deep study on A.S)

S.F.M - Shridhar ( Covers almost everything) OR Pattabiram (Have heard less people using it)

Law - Munish Bhandari( Main book plus handbook), Handbook is really handy during exams :)

Audit - People go with surbhi bansal but i will suggest only go with surbhi bansal if ur short on time, which u should not be if ur starting 5 months before. Study using PADHUKA

S.A (standards on audit) - Aseem Trivedi

AMA - Mostly people go with Padhuka , but for self study best is Tulsian

ISCA - Dinesh madan and Jignesh Chedda Are top choices among people

I will suggest go ahead with VAlechha ( if u are having difficulty understanding concepts, as valecha has got a technique of remembering )

If u really like to understand the technicalities like i do go ahead with Chandrasekhar of Snow white Publication for ISCA.

D.T - Preferably Vinod Gupta ( the book might be really big but then you cover almost everything), other options would be Manoharan , Singhania( the ocean of tax, I call it, Really if u want to think beyong CA finals) or Girish Ahuja

I.D.T - Bangar.... No if no but :P

The 1st reading is the most important, time consuming and tiring thing ever to do, But make sure it is worth it. THEN REVISIONS WOULD BE AS SMOOTH AS LIKE WALKING IN THE GARDEN

And stay away from people who say C.A final is difficult to clear.

AMA / Costing – J B Gupta (BEST) plus Study Material, Compiler and Practice Manual (It is better to prepare your own notes for theory portion – Must cover theory given in Practice Manual) (Padhuka is also good for self-study)

ISCA – Manish Valechha (BEST) (Memory Based Edition)... It is the best-selling book for ISCA. … it is comprehensive and easy to learn... It explains all topics with examples, diagrams, memory codes (refer study material if you have surplus time but not actually required). And at last, go through Practice Manual for important questions.

Direct Taxes - T.N. Manoharan Plus Summary Module of Vinod Gupta (Prepare notes for lengthy and typical portion, if possible). You can also refer Vinod Gupta Full Modules Set If you are having sufficient time for preparation.

Indirect Taxes – N S Govindan for Concepts (BEST) (Vineet Sodhani or Bangar for Practice and Past Exam Questions).
