Final 1824 views 19 replies

Hi,
I wish to attempt CA final exam may 2015. ( grp-2) . I had attempted more than 5-6 times already an d am failing continuously. A lot of changes have taken place in my personal front. I have this last chance to appear and pass and be a CA.
I am planning to do a self study, given the circumstances around me. I am preferring Costing and DT by Padukas, ISCA by Manish Valecha and IDT by Vaitheswaran.

I want someone to guide /partner my study pattern. i want some one to share or make a time table for me and help me /mentor me.
I also have no idea which topics to pick seriously in costing and DT. Its been quite a while.

So kindly help me plan to succeed- anyone.
thanks :)

Padhuka will be lenghty , Best is PM for costing

perfer Bangar rather than Vaitheeswaran

AMA, DT : padhuka is gud...it includes all rtp questions wch r v much important for exams. That's y it looks bit huge. Am also referred and referring the same so u can go for it.
Isca: Manish vale ha + pm. IDT: bangar or padhuka. Also buy dt IDT case law book and supplementary books applicable for may15...₹100 each. Very important book for dt IDT. Its already available at institute.
For each subject, refer new pm. The way of finishing pm is once u finish one chapter in author's book, immediately open the pm & check is there any new problems in pm(practice manual)..if so finish this. Plan: See the no of problems or theory topic/questions in each chapter and see per hour how much you can finish..i.e allot the things on per hour basis. So u can see in how many days u can complete the syllabus. By this aram se u can finish even if u start from January 1st. Next 10 days be ready with the books. New practice manual will come in Jan 1st or 2nd week. Authors book of 2nd group has already been available.
For costing first prepare OR and theory they will fetch you atleast 40 marks. In DT first prepare Capital gain, Pgbp, wealth tax, mat, assessment procedure, transfer pricing and case studies.. It will cover major portion and also atleast one question come for sure from every topic. Rest I have to plan myself, if you want I can keep you updated.. :)

Be rigorous in your approach, study as much as you can.

I cleared my CA Final without coaching classes,

For CA Final Group II : Costing - Padhuka

ISCA : Study Material (Module)

DT : Vinod Gupta

IDT : Module, Bangar

Since you have time in your hand for ISCA - refer institute's study material. Though it looks tough, trust me it will definately fetch you very good marks. For Costing go for Padhuka's. Dani sir's costing lectures are availabe on you tube, you can refer that also. For DT - Vinod Gupta and IDT - Bangar. As you still have time in your hand, practice as much as you can. Be Positive.

I am going to appear for my final under mra idt dt and law. If i crack it in my first sitting i will surely share my pattern. Just don't stress and start a fresh as if its the first attempt dont think too much abt past . Time changes just keep your focus start your studies right away with the subject that interest you soon u will have a timetable of your own..

For ISCA I strongly recommend study material of institute to be done thoroughly. For AMA i would suggest padhuka & for IDT i would refer Bangar.

You should try to have precise concept in all these subjects than only you would be able to puzzle out exams. Each topic is important & never let off as an option, keep practicing in AMA cause only practical exposure to differtent varities of questions would enable you to assess your understanding about a particular topic/subject. So ALL THE BEST and start from this very moment itself still you have appropriate time. If you have any query relating to any subject you are most welcome.

Hi sir I want go through self preparation of CA final . please tell me which books I need prepare for subject. My final attempt is 2015 may.
Costing - practice and practice new and various kind of sums. Speed matters a lot in this paper. DT- Keep revising. Syllabus is huge in this. Advisable to give it a brush up in few days. Eventually ur number of days required to revise dt will keep reducing. When I completed Dt for first time, it took me 21 days. However by my 4th study of DT it took only 3 days. Continuous revision is a must for Dt. Try and mk ur own method to revise. Isca - I read insti mat. Short and sweet. I was weak in isca as it was kinda out of core CA area. Read the book thrice. Did PM twice. In my 3rd reading I took 4 days and made my own notes. Rough writing. Primarily consisting of main headings and brief 2 liner of my own understanding. Notes were of some 92 pages. Notes Really helped me during exams. Idt - there's a teacher Tharun Raj, read from his rapid revision notes. Even idt is huge and I found it boring as it was way more technical. Dt is huge but it's conceptual. So for idt either make ur revision notes or get notes from net. PS - I'm awaiting my results, gave it in nov. This is how I prepared for second group. All the best. :)

hello friends....all are giving their best of inputs....but only one thing i want to add here,,,just try to reduce your study content in ur self made notes....which can b done even for practical q ...as where u struck just make a short note...of that or mark it with highlighter......next tym when u r revising tt same q just focus on highlighted part as it saves ur much tym...as other part of the problem u already know and can be solved by u....so why waste tym by solving it once again...

and for theory ....make short crux notes....of concepts....

and for theory which needs to be crammed up...make a story in ur own way....

study smart not hard.....

good luck for upcoming exams....wink
