I would like to know that whether attempt is delayed if leaves are availed in excess of those allowed during articleship?

Like if My attempt is May'14 and I have taken more than allowed leaves (say I have taekn 180 leaves) till 31st April'14 then will I be allowed to appear in May'14 or will my attempt get delayed?

FYR:I have started my articleship after IPCC.

Hi Harshit,

As far as i remember the articleship rules for IPCC, your attempt will fall due during the last six months of your articleship.

As for example if your articleship is completing on or before 31st October 2014 with extension then you are eligilble to give exams in May 2014 attempt. Likewise if your articleship is completing on or before 30th April 2015 with extension then you are eligible for November 2014 attempt.

I dont know if there are any changes in the rules after November 2012.

Wait for the other experts to reply.

Thanks for updating me regarding same.

But I am more concerned whether that last 6 months are inclusive of excess leaves or excluding ?

Yes Harshit.

They are inclusive of excess leaves.

It is like when your articleship gets over along with the extension.

okays....thnks a lot  :)

Also, I would like to confirm that are eligible leaves are excluding weekends and public holidays ?

Obviuosly Yes Harshit,

You cannot include weekends and public holidays in leaves.

As in the calculation is like that.

For example you have taken 200 leaves in your 3 years articleship time period.

So total working days 365*3=1095

Leaves taken = 200

Total days worked =1095-200=895

Eligible leaves = 895/6 =149.

Total Extension = 200-149=50 days.

ok..ok...done

actually I was confused bcoz in ofc leaves are inclusive of sat and sunday if I am off on Friday and Monday as well.

thanks a ton

Yes,

In my office too the situation was the same.

But you can confirm abt the leave policy of your firm with HR or your principal.

okays...surely i ll..
