Hello people,

My name is Nandhinni VS, I'm writing CA - Final Second group this May 2015 and i'm currently employed. I need to know how to prepare for second group and which is a scoring paper. I'm confused as the opinions are varied. I need to balance my work and the exams. Please guide me.

IDT is the scoring subject...u have to be perfect with service tax. In excise- cenvat, valuation rules, ssi. Cover amendments i.e from icai supplementary book and cover case laws..case laws fetch u around 12 to 15marks. Total 90 cases are there. In rtp 17 cases. Pick 5 per day..u can finish this. In custom, see wch portion u can read n leave, but amendments part is a must.

Even I have the same book..yes u can if u prepare one proper n simple table. Even am student, no sir n al.

Yes.... Idt is scoring subject, but I would suggest not to leave customs because it is the easiest part in my opinion.

Hi...pls take note of this.

1. Refer bangar for studying only syllabus. I mean, leave all case laws and bare act he has given

2. Thoroughly study Case law books & Supplementary Paper, PM, RTP, Sug ans.

3. Same even in dt. TNM is d best

4. costing - u cn refer any publication, what is imp is practice

5. ISCA - revise and revise, else u will forget

Try book of CA Yashwant Mangal its much better in presentation, quick to read. Also prepare notes covering every aspect of a topic with highlighting definitions then you can score exemption in ISCA like me.

You can score a lot in IDT. Usually I see many scoring in IDT and I have also seen some people score a lot in ISCA. It depends. For me ISCA was v.tough, I just managed to get 40 but thank got I was able to score in IDT

Thank you all very much :-) For ISCA I'm using Practise manual and institute material. My only issue is availability of time. I hope to complete the syllabus.
