CA exams - copies of the answer sheets

No you can not obtain answer copy from ICAI. However you may go for re-totalling of answer sheet.

As per my opinion ICAI never allows the re-valuation of answer sheets. As per earlier ICAI notification fee for re-totaling and fee for verification of answer books is Rs. 100/- per paper subject to a maximum of Rs. 400/- for all the papers of a group/ both groups.

PROCEDURE FOR RE-TOTALLING

Write an application by hand (printed applications ate of no use) giving detail w.r.t. your Roll Number, address, Attempted Group, papers desired to be revalued and attach the required fees by way of postal order favour of Secretary, ICAI. Result will be out in max of 30 days. Chances are low but you can’t say.

This application is required to be submitted with in a month from the date of declaration of result.

You can Obtain Answer sheet copies from ICAI under RTI, To this effect a few months back during the time when Results for June 2009 were declared some Person on this portal  had uploaded the copies of the Court Orders of Mumbai High court / DElhi High court to this effect.

No you cant.. I applied for my answer sheets of June 2009 PCC exam and i got a reply from ICAI that the papers cant get the papers.

You can apply under R T I. Bombay & Delhi high courts have already given their Verdicts in this issue on cases filed by some students. & the hon.courts have made it clear in their judgement that Answer books fall within the perview of RTI 7 Institute of CA cannot refuse to give the answer books. Even the stay order granted to ICAI in this regard is lifted & Incase of case filed by one student at Bombay the Hon Bombay high court had very categorically ordered ICAI to give the answer books to the student. So you please apply under RTI & you will get the answer books

It is already confirmed by Hon Mubai HC in Vikita V Soni, that ICAI students can get the copy of answer sheets.
