Dear Student,

The next foundation, Executive/Intermediate and Professional/Final examinations will be held from Tuesday, the 02^nd June 2009 to Wednesday, the 10^th June, 2009, as per the time table and programme of this issue. The last date for receipt of enrolment application for June 2009 examination in the institute together with the requisite examination fee is 25^th March, 2009 and with late fee of Rs. 100/- upto 9^th April, 2009. Every Candidate should inform the Name, Registration No., C/c No., Contact No., E-mail (Optional), attendance record etc. of the students and a performance report to the Institute indicating the details of the tests conducted and the marks obtained by the students on or before 15^th April to the Institute immediately in prescribed format for June 2009 Examinations for the purpose of issuing Coaching Completion Certificates, etc.

It may, be noted that a student attending oral coaching is not required to submit the response sheets and he/she is issued with the coaching completion certificate if he/she has attend at least 75% of the classes held and has passed minimum number of tests held for each subject.

All Students are advised to apply for enrolment for appearing in June 2009 examination only on NEW EXAMINATION / ENROLMENT FORM. It is specifically advised to use the New Examination / Enrolment form which is designed, in view of the changes due to switch over to new syllabus.

Old Examination / enrolment form will not be accepted, as it does not cater to the requirement of the details as per Old syllabus as well as New syllabus. Students of Old syllabus interested in seeking switch over must make sure to mention their option of the syllabus - such as OLD SYLLABUS – OR - NEW SYLLABUS in the relevant column of the examination / enrolment form and are also required to put their signature in support of their claim for seeking switchover. Guidelines for switch over is repeatedly published in “Student Company Secretary” monthly bulletin,” and is also available on the website.

All the students of Final course as well as Foundation / Intermediate course, under Old syllabus who have not opted for Switch over so far and, are interested in switchover to New Syllabus for Foundation Programme /Executive Programme / Professional Programme, as the case may be, are advised to opt for the same in the examination / enrolment form, while seeking the enrolment to appear in June 2009 examination.

During the career awareness programme the students were appraised about the mode of registration in the course, syllabus, structure of the course and also the avenues available after completion of the Company Secretaryship Course both in employment as well as in practice. Pamphlets explaining career in Company Secretaryship Course were distributed to the students.

Those of you who register for oral coaching classes have the opportunity of assimilating the knowledge imparted by experienced teachers at oral coaching classes along with your own understanding of the subject. However, you have to be in constant touch with your instructors, particularly for clarifying your doubts. As stated earlier, in addition to Postal Coaching, Institute also organizes Oral Coaching Classes through its Regional Offices at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi, Chapters, Satellite Chapters and Accredited Institutions. Registering yourself for the Oral Coaching classes is absolutely at your discretion. However, for having better understanding of the subjects it is advisable to register for the Oral Coaching classes. In case you prefer to register yourself for the Oral Coaching classes, you will have to pay extra fees as decided by the respective centers organising Oral Coaching. Under this option also you may obtain the Eligibility Certificate by appearing and qualifying in the required number of tests in each paper. This test will be conducted by the respective oral tuition centres. Guideline Answers: In addition to above, the Institute also publishes model answers also known as Guideline Answers, in booklet form, for the questions asked in all subjects for each session of June and December Examinations. Kindly remember that Institute’s examinations are held in June and December, every year. Examination results are declared on 25th August for the examination held in the June and on 25th February for the examination held in December.

No.13-CA (EXAM)/CPT/JUNE/2009: - In pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to notify that the Common Proficiency Test will be held on Sunday, the 28^thJune, 2009 in two sessions.

Apart from the above, it is also hereby notified that the Council of the Institute has decided to hold the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) Online for the candidates who would be willing to take the Test Online.
