Whether a CA can certify ITR filing status for loan purpose

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether a Chartered Accountant (CA) can certify an Income Tax Return (ITR) for loan applications. While an ITR acknowledgement is often sufficient, some banks require a CA certificate detailing filing status. CAs can provide an opinion report on the ITR's authenticity and data, which requires a UDIN, but they cannot certify it as a true copy.

If ITR is filed u can submit the acknowledgement itself,no need of any certification here unless it's for some other purpose.
Bank Manager needs a CA certificate in which the acknowledgement no. and date of filing to be mention
Yes a CA can certify that.
CA are not authorized to certify ITR as true copy.

However they can make an opinion/ certificate report about ITR based on its source, location and authenticity of data from which ITR is being prepared and UDIN is required while doing so.
