I would better suggest people to analyze the reasons for having not got a job. There are many people who secured good jobs who got qualified in May 2012 attempt.

Compare the % of people who got jobs and who didnt get them. Campus placement thing is quite different.

After all , it is the skills of a person that earns him his desired job. Not just the qualification or experience.

Chartered Accountancy is a qualification, not a passport to get a bright job.It depends upon a candidate to get a good opportunity.

There are many factors for the above problem.., i cant say, its the fault of ICAI or students or even the companies.. Its just that, the economy is going through a bad phase, and everyone is being affected because of it... Some of the reasons, i found out, for freshers not getting job are (in these, no one can help you out):

A. The percentage of students getting pass each attempt has increased. The demand is there, but not for qualified C.A. all the time.

B. Companies do require CA all the time, but not at such high cost, which a fresher does expect from the company.

C. Frankly, there are other professional accountants in the market, who can perform a job of FRESHER QUALIFIED CA in a company.., infact they ask for a lesser salary too.

D. Many consultant agencies (PRACTICING CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS) have now started having hardcore contractual agreements with the companies for providing financial services, against which they hire fresher C.A. and place them in that company at lower salary. It solves the purpose of company and consultant too. And fresher thinks, he's working for the firm, while he is actually working in a company at lower salary.

And there can be many more possible reasons..

Please stay away from the **sh*t** like form a union and filing a complaint with president of ICAI. Focus on your career and be positive. Please understand and realize the fact that you have a strong base with Deloitte article ship experience. You indulgence in controversial activities will surely damage your focus and consequently harm your career.

Simply focus on your present job and keep working on your skills and attitude. Keep your vision clear regarding future --- Job or Practice. If you are interested in Job, then keep searching corporate jobs and keep working on your finance related skills as command over finance can get you the position of CFO or CEO in next 7-10 years.

Brush up your skills and beleive in yourself....  every damn company needs knowledge from a Chartered accountant. But today's new Chartered Accountants somehow lack in their knowledge level which a company demands..

Protesting and planning to make unions is such a bad idea. u better plan to make things up-to-date and increase knowledge..

Current market situation is not suitable to freshers to open up their career, but what we learn from our articles (even they are CA / CS articles) to work hard, keep your mind stable and think positive, we are professionals, we should form a way to come out of these threats. Being CA is very proudful thing, keep your patience awake. am sure you will get better opportunities ahead. Respect your profession and your profession will respect you.

Start Practicing yaar... u would have gained sufficient knowledge.... struggle with ur knowledge to come up..Even it takes time to settle need not to bow or sell the knowledge to the employment... No retirment issue... BE POSITIVE IN THINKING DEAR..

firstly chill yaar. take a small vacation if so required. dude, you have done your articleship from deloitte so that doesn't mean you will get job instantly. I agree with dhiraj for all his analysis and acknowledge the same.

one think should also be understood, that when ppl look at us (C.A) they look for an extra-ordinary solution and out of box remedies at times. to be frank it takes time to groom in and be an expert. Shrikanth do understand that economic suitation is really bad for all of us. 

So take it easy and focus.
