Following details are filled in ITR 2 Schedules: The utility downloaded from the web site of INCOMETAX

  1. Schedule - House Property: (Loss on house property) Interest on Housing loan for F.Y.2015-16 Rs.200000 i. e Max allowed.
  2. Schedule – CFL : Previous years Interest on housing loan were filled in Assessment Year wise and tried to compute set off by pressing “Compute Set off” by which the fields like

X . Adjustment of above losses in Schedule BFLA.

xi. 2016-17 (Current year Losses).

But, these are not being calculated automatically.

  1. Schedule – CYLA – BFLA : Similarly, in this schedule also the set off is not being computed automatically. There is a foot-note that “Please, click on ‘compute Setoff button to allow the utility to auto fill the adjustment of Current Year and Brought forward Loss in the Yellow field’.

But, there are no YELLOW FIELDS on that page.

Please, guide me why it is not done.

I am trying to do this for this AY and it is still the same!

I am amazed that none of the learned CA's over here have been able to respond to this yet, even after 9 months!  The Utility in Excel for 2017 still does not have 'Yellow Fields'?!!!

Best regards,

Bala

You can set off your house property loss with income from house property only. Suppose your income from house property turns positive then you can adjust your brought forward loss. Read more at: https://www.caclubindia.com/forum/auto-calculation-of-setoff-in-cyla-bfla-and-cfl-364700.asp

Hi,

Today I tried to exclude House Loss , but CYLA setoff does not allow.. forces to setoff all Gains, but on validating gives LTCG can be set off only by LTCG.

Pls refer my query    https://www.caclubindia.com/forum/how-to-avoid-house-loss-setoff-validation-error-what-is-mini-chargeable-to-tax-609026.asp   and pls guide me further as a solution.

Expecting help on emergency to file return tomorrow atleast.
