Is the ICAI member holding full time COP can conduct statutory audit in his own name? Any aproval has to be taken ?

A CA having a sole proprietorship, even though the audits are being taken in the name of the firm, the CA himself is actually conducting the audit. Unlike in case of partnership firm each individual partner CA is conducting the audit on behalf of the firm.
So the individual CA can take audit & no approval is required.
I agree with Mr.Giridhar. But Auditor needs to get firm/trade name approval from ca institute.
