I have received a IT arrear demand letter from CPC, Bangalore via email. It is mentioned that A.Y. 08. My doubt is what does it mean A.Y. 2007-08 or A.Y. 2008-09. For A.Y. 2007-08 i dont have any records as I missplaced the Incometax return and Form 16. In this case what should be the option

You can get the copy of IT return from the concerned ITO. Also you can enquire ITO regarding arrears of demand and reasons for demand in case you have not received 143(1) intimations for the said arrears of demand.
A.Y. 08 means A.Y.2008-09.
