can any one tell me who is liable( a direcxtor or a shareholder?) for tax computed under section 144( i.e. if notice under section 143(2) was not complied with????????????

A shareholder will never be liable for the acts done by directors. The directors will be liable. There is a seperation of ownership and management
no the shareholder is not liable...... the company is distinct from its owner..... the notice is served to the company..... and the company will act through its directors/CA etc in reply to the notice
The shareholders will never be liable
