why do AS6 and AS8 not exist In Accounting standards

AS 6 was about depreciation and AS 8 for R&D.

Later they got merged with other ASs on connected topics. Like AS 6 with AS 10 (Fixed assets or PPE), and AS 8 with AS 26 (intangible assets).
