"a person's appointment as director follows necessarily from his appointment to a position held by him in that Enterprise"
...in this context of AS 18, where it says, it is one of the conditions where an enterprise is deemed to have the power to appoint a director ( control the composition)?

It means suppose Mr. X is a manager in A Ltd. and because of this position, he has been appointed as a director in B ltd. which is the subsidiary of A Ltd. So he became a director because of his position in another enterprise, which works out to be like controlling the Board's composition.
