Applicability of ITC for the materials purchased before implementation of GST

I was GST registered contractor. I Was purchased material for execution of work contract before implementation of GST. But, billing is now being done after implementation of GST. Now, can I claim the ITC for the the material purchased prior to GST i.e., purchased with VAT bill. what is the procedure for claiming ITC.
