A CHEQUE DATED 31.03.2009 IS RECEIVED ON 5.04.2009 is this cheque is to be accounted for in f.y. 2008-09 ?

it should be accounted for in financial year 2009-10.
if this cheque is received in the noraml course of business, it is not a significant event for the purpose of AS-4.
