Another Heart touching experience………………
After clearing the CA Final Examination in May 2011, I was searching for a job, but did not get anything. The job market in the kolkata was pathetic that time. After 15 days of hard-core efforts, finally I got the job in Mumbai and worked there for 4-5 months. After that, I again became jobless and did nothing for 2 months. Again after trying very hard, finally I got a job in Hyderabad, in a Chartered Accountancy firm. Well this was the profile I waited for. I got the profile of Audit manager here.
Being a manager, I was the most senior. I was to report to the bosses directly. I was the hole and sole of this Hyderabad unit. I was having a team of 7-8 members and all of them were the telgu’s.
So there was the language barrier. Out of those 7-8 peoples, 3 were girls and as usual having the qualities of girls, being the most talkative in the office.
Our office timings were 10 A.M. to 7 P.M and we were having a grace period of 15 minutes. That means if an employee reaches by 10.15, then that will not be treated as a late and telgu peoples were the most efficient in utilising the grace period.
After one and half months of joining the firm, I got an appraisal form that has to be filled by all the employees and I have to give them the marks out of 10 in various fields. Those marks were the basis of their salary increment. So that was also the additional responsibility on me. Plus there was a column in the form, named employees suggestion in which employees were required to give their suggestions.
I gave the forms to each and every employee and asked them to fill the same as early as possible.
After half an hour, I got all the filled up forms. There were two common things in the form, one was the poor handwriting and another was a common suggestion to increase the lunch hours from half an hour to one hour.
I was surprised to see those suggestions and was also worried, because I was the responsible one to lead this team and achieve the desired targets.
Amongst all the girls, there was a girl named Radhika, she was the most efficient amongst them. She was the one who was responsible for project evaluations. She used to do her work very efficiently, but the only problem was too much talking’s over the phone.
That time, we were having 4-5 projects running and she was very busy that time. She used to leave the office by 9 P.M. in the evening and so was I, because I was the boss and I also had to be there in the office till that time.
She was married. In fact she got married just a year back and it was a love marriage. Parents of the girl were against the marriage, but it was her decision and her parents supported her. All was going really well, her office work, her married life etc. etc.
As I told you earlier, the work load was very much that time and we both used to stay in the office till 9, one day, her husband and she had a fight. Her husband even told her to leave the job, but she did not. After a week, her husband called me at 3 A.M. in the morning and started barking over the phone like a rabid dog. I disconnected the call, but he called me more times after that and made my sleep impaired. I reached office and explained everything to radhika. She apologized to me.
Again in the night, her husband called me and impaired my sleep.
Next day, morning, when I reached office, radhika was crying. I asked her the reason and she told me that her husband wants a divorce now.
What a cheap thinking of that man. She did not even trust her. She also told me that her husband hit her last night with a rod and in the morning she left the house. Now she was staying with her parents. I could not believe that. How can someone think so cheap? It was a love marriage and guy was not having a trust of a single penny on her. And what she told me after that, mere pairon ke niche se jameen nikal gayi sunke……………. She was pregnant. The guy knew that and still hit her with the iron rod and also thrown her from the house when she needed him the most.
“Kaisa ye ishq hai, ajab saa risk hai”
He left her. After 5 months, he again started contacting her and she also forgave her. But, her late night working was again creating the problems. He asked her to leave the job. But she was doing so well in the job and her salary was also increased by 5000 that time. So she did not agree to leave the job.
Now they started doing the fighting over the phone during the day time. She used to talk to him or used to fight with him almost throughout the day. I was also not feeling well as due to her the office environment was getting affected. But she was already in a tussle situation facing the problems, so I was not in a mood to increase the same. I ignored the same for some days.
She did so much for that guy, and what she got in return, pain and only pain. She even went against her family for him, but that idiot was not even supporting her at the time when she needed him the most.
One day, she was standing at the reception desk. I entered the office. She was on a call on the landline number of the office. Suddenly her phone rang, it was her husband. I saw her cell and what was the name saved against that number, my sweet hubby…..
What should I say now……….. He did so much of wrong with her, but still she loved him, she gave the respect which he deserved……….
