Great grand father- completed partitioning during             1968.

Grandfather still holding his share of inherited property along with acquired property in my mother's name which is enjoyed in common.

Keeping my father in dark my grandfather is  trying to transfer it in my father's brother name through settlement/will,....Is it possible?

For family settlement of ancestral property, consent of all the members is must. Otherwise it will be disputable asset ......

Sir,Request your inputs.I want to know whether the property is still ancestral or it loses its status once my grandfather gets his portion in his name.

It remains ancestral.......

Other type is self-earned, which is not the case here.....

Sir,Thanks for your prompt reply.

Most Welcome ....
