I woukd suggest you to appear for both groups.
Six months time is sufficient for preparation assuming that you were i regular touch with your books.

Try to finish 1 group first. Go for that group which u feel tougher bcoz u have more than enough time for 1 group. Then, see how much time is left and decide accordingly. If u feel u have enough time, go for both. Otherwise, go for 1 group or try for exemption in 1 paper of the other group so that its relatively easier to clear the other group in next attempt.

Barkha, As u can see 2 of our fraternity friends has suggested u two different study patterns and even I agree to them and would like to tel u that both are equally prevalent among students.

I would largely emphasise on both group at this juncture since u have 6m in your hand.

Because what happens with some of the students that studying a single group over a period of 6m becomes diff. But finishing one group first is a must and could not be compromised at any cost.

Regarding study patterns, it is highly subjective and varied largely among students. Some students likes to complete a single subject at a stretch and some take a mode of doing 2 subjects in a day.
Points to be considered before start of study and u can even change a bit of your study patterns based on initials days of your study.

1) Please select your content of study very wisely. Class notes / reference books / self notes / PM. Try to make a balance. Keep in mind that PM is a priority than reference books and if u go selective then PM is a Necessity.

2) Choosing combination of subjects in your daily schedule.

3) Take note of your weak and strong subjects.

4) Practical subject - Written practice else u will be stumped in exam and there is no exception to that. practicing not only makes u familiar with the course and questions but also makes u analytical which helps u in solving uneven or irregular questions which u might have never seen. ICAI likes to give surprise and u know what student are unexpectedly surprised what ICAI put up every 6m.

5) Theory subjects - Audit and Law involves practical aspects + Theoretical aspects. an understanding of a subject would help u. ISCA somewhere it's a mug up compared to audit law.

6) Please don't make a big schedule of a month or 2. Make it for a week initially to see what's the success ratio and further u can extend to a fortnight schedule.

ALL THE BEST TO U. STUDY WELL AND KEEP YOURSELF AWAY FROM ANY NEGATIVE ENERGY AND AVOID PROCRASTINATION.

Appear for both groups. You have sufficient time and you have already studied practical subjects in class. Make a combination of a theory subject and a practical subject and proceed on with your studies.

By the way Law, ISCA, and Audit are critcal papers if u prepere well enough they are scoring papers or else they will be your

nightmares.

Suggetst to opt One Grp

Thanks to all for your replies
another question is whether there is any need of extra class for theory subjects
or it is manageable from author's book
At the end...self study only helps. So, choose a good book. And , if you feel that you will face some difficulty in preparing through self study.. then opt for classes.
