advice--is llb necessary for cs students

I would suggest--go for it as it is indeed a very good combination with CS.

With LL.B. you may go for Legal & Secretarial designation.

Of course LLB is a very good combination with CS. However, it is not necessary.

But one should go for it in order to enhance his Knowledge, scope of working and designation.

A CS is referred to as compliance officer and apart from complying with Corporate Laws it is also expected from him to comply with other laws and even handle legal matters...........So LL.B is a good combination for a CS.
