Today we got a good costing paper, a student with basic knowledge easily get 60 plus in this paper. The questions pertaining to ABC Costing and Linear Programming asked with same as in May, 2005 with same figures and the even the comapny name is also not changed. Other questions are logical and easy.
What is your comment and rating on Today's AMA Paper?
(a) Easy
(b) Average
(c) Difficult
(d) Hard
Paper is very good, but its too much time taking. May be most of the students cant attend morethan 80 marks
PAPER WAS QUITE GOOD. OPERATION RESEARCH PART NEEDS DECISION MAKING . MOST OF STUDENTS JUST LEARN HOW TO SOLVE BUT THEY NEVER LEARN WHAT THEY CAN CONCLUDE FROM FIGURES . SO MAY BE DIFFICULT TO THOSE WHO JUST KNOW METHOD TO SOLVE OR BUT DO NOT KNOW WHY AND FOR WHAT? FROM THE LAST NOV PAPER THEY ARE NOW FOCUSSING ON CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING RATHER THAN BIG CALCULATIONS , SO PAPERS CAN BE COMPLETED WITHIN 2.5 HOURS EASILY. SO PLEASE ADVICE TO ALL STUDENTS PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS SUBJECT FROM CONCEPTUAL POINT OF VIEW. DON'T MERELY RATTAFY METHODOLOGY TO SOLVE.
prepare for ISCA best of luck to all. Refer May RTP as I feel most of the questions will be from RTP. Many questions will be somewhat near or related topics asked in RTP.
It is very easy to develop gut feeling if you think from examiner's point of view i.e. why examiner is giving such question in RTP and what are their chances to come in exams. .. Can he manipulate to give nearby topic given in the module. ?
paper of AMA is good. There is no such question which could take much time . Paper could be easily completed in 2.5 hours.

Yes, today paper has some unike type of question which takes some time. So it is difficult to 100% attempt in 3 Hrs. I also attempt only 85 Marks only.
I was on last question no. 7 (b) part when it was 3:55 . I attempted full paper. There is nothing to consume time. EVen though I was lacking practice in Costing , I managed to complete paper in 2.30 hours. If I do practice like other avearge student then I was confident to complete atleast within 2.15 hours.
I have my own style of completing paper, you may be astonished to know that I completed every paper in 1.15 hours except cost and accounts in november attempt and managed to pass Group I. I failed in Group 2 becuase of 5 marks shortage in DT and IDT both. THIS WAS ALL because I prepared in three months duration since my actual due is May 2011. Now I know how to score well and what were shortcomings in DT and IDT due to which i failed. Other wise all papers can be completed well before time.
I never give preference to LENGTH and prefer to write answer to the point whether it get completed in 2-3 lines or 10 lines. I passed ISCA completed in 1.5 hours.
But in todays paper direct theory was not much as compared to ICAI's past final papers on costing.
So Ankur you were lucky to complete the whole paper.
I think rather than merely completing the paper in a race ......its more imp to write what is correct & more imp watever you write should fetch max marks..........?
Basically its the most tricky paper of all 8 papers of final n our aim shld be to score more rather thn only to complete paper.....?

What about ques no. 1(d) transportation prob............?? they provided the values of delta ij but i was not able to find these by any method......???????????

what the hell we are suppose to do here, are we suppose to do a time pass or listen such a idiot comments vote for it man ...no one can finish it provided in 3.15 hrs what the hell u think that any one can easily completed in 2.5 hrs, if u had solve it i love to see it again solve the same paper even in 3.30 min
bcause i rem each and every thing in the question paper even left 5 marks no one can do, and just think before posting anything
