Hello,

I am starting on a company in the software / It Services field. What is the accouting software options which are available.
Are the online accouiting softwares like Quickbooks, as feature rick as Tally.

As I see it I have options like -

Traditional desktop / client server software like Tally or Busy
Online options like Quickbooks which have Indian version
Online Accouting software like Wave, or freshbooks

Can i use generic online accounting software like Wave (https://waveaccounting.com/features/) which is free as such to use. Will it be able to cover compliances for me for Indian operation context.

I would prefer a software which is not limited to Windows platform.

Kindly suggest option, preferably at the free level as initially I do not have much volume of transactions for a year.A

lso consider whether it can be used by a non-finance guy.

You can also use ABCAUS but Proffesional accountant is less than 250kb, not 5 mb like abcaus and abcaus will be 20 mb once we pass entries. whereas size of pulkits file will increase very less since the file does not have userforms. And also if you know excel you can formate his file in any manner. Make your own reports etc............VAT reports, ST, TDS etc. DbtNts, CreditNotes etc. which are not in abcaus. And latest v3 is superb.

There are many software which comes free.

Try Tally instead- It is a good and simple to use software for maintaining Accounts & Inventory.

There will be no condition for providing anything FREE. and the condition "it Free for clients from begining and still its free for them" is not mentioned where you are advt. that it is free.
