Hi Suma
For the purpose of Accounting income side recongnise full ticket value (ticket+commission)
and under purchases book ticket value.

Technically you income is only commision part. in GST return show only commision part as turover.

You can also write to me with further details at sthayin @ gmail.
For travel agencies who conduct tours in packages
In case of tour agencies also tally everything is same. only difference is your income is fully value of packge amount instead of commission.

income side
Rama Ac
to tour package income
(gst i have not considered. if gst registration is there then book gst entries too)

Direct expense
travelling
to cash

hotel
to cash

food and other
to cash

here from gst point of view yiu have to charge on gst on full value
A travel agent can opt for the following:
1.Income from commision earned from big travel houses.
2. Income from tour packages organised for various customers.
3. Income from various other international packages.

Segregate it under two broad heads:
In house
External.
