A/c payee cheque clarification

as per RBI guideliness if a chque is recived by a son in the name of father the he has to deposit that cheque into the bank after that he can claim that amount .

as in your case frist you have to deposit that cheque into her account then you can claim it.

if she is not having bank account then she has to open the same

Thanks for your prompt reply.

On my humble request, and since my house owener not willing to open an bank account, the drawer cancelled A/c Payee seal and signed it. In the cheque it is mentioned as ON ORDER. The cheque has been issued by State Bank of India at par at all branches.

Can I en-cash it from any bank counter without involvement of my house owner?

If I can not en-cash it, and needs to be deposited into my account how long it will take to moeny to get credited?

sir, as u mentioned that sbi cancelled such cheque and issued new cheque on order. it in the favour of your landlady not in your name . its a bearer cheque and while encashing you cashier will ask  id proff and signe of your land lady.

in my opinion you should take her with you in bank and encash the cheque in no further problems
