i do not have mediclaim policy, can i avail for health check up benefit of rs 5000? for AY 2017-18

Deduction claim upto Rs.25000 from A.Y.16-17
health check up expenses can be claimed but not the medical expenses unless the assessee is very senior citizen
in respect of health check up assessee can claim up to 10000. 5000 for self and 5000 for parents
Health checkup benefit is limited upto Rs.5000/- for self & 5000 for parents.
