Sorry dear but there is no tax benefit available for maternity expenses.
Bhoomi Patel, I am of the view that you can claim deduction upto aggregate of expenditure not exceeding 30,000/-. There is no specific provision that you cannot claim for Maternity benefit. It says for health of assesse or any member in family. One Point to be noted that there should be no med claim for the health of wife.
Dear Girish, If you are referring to 80D(2)(c) then please understand that Medical expenses incurred on the health of Assessee or any family member is allowed upto Rs. 30,000/- BUT:
This clause is applicable ONLY WHEN the person for whom the expense is being made is VERY SENIOR CITIZEN (+) No health insurance policy has been taken for him/her.
[this is clearly mentioned under the Proviso to 80D(2)(d)].
correctly said nitesh bro
Exactly. Totally Agreed with Mr. Nitesh.

not allowed

But you can apply cash expenses for this upto Rs 5000.

rs. 5000 FOR daily health check-up .
