Hi Experts,

On purchase of residential flat, can we get Deduction under 80C for the amount paid for registration and stamp duty of the property?

Considering that there is no housing loan involved in the purchase

No you cannot get such deduction under section 80C

As  per  section 80 (c) (2) (xviii) (d)  of  the  Income  Tax  act  1961  , any sum paid  during the  previous year for   Stamp duty  , and  registration fees   for the purpose  of transfer of  house  property ,  you will get  deduction  maximum  up to  1 lac  50 thousand while computing  total income being an individual   .

Just  confirm  with  other also  .

It's deductible...
stamp duty, registration fee and other expenses for the purpose of transfer of such house property to the assessee,

Kapadia Pravin is correct.

You will get deduction U/S80C even without having loan.
