Sub: Submission of Aadhar as Identity Document by the Pensioners and Members of the EPS, 1995-reg.

Sir/Madam,

Attention is drawn to this office Circular NoPension-1(11(10)12016-17 Jeevan Praman dated 9-01-2017 (at SI. No.568 on EPFO website) by which copy of Gazette Notification No. S. 26(E) dated 04-01-2011 was circulated and office order No. Pension 1/17( 10)2016-17 Jeevan Praman /17960 dated 204-2017 (at Sl No.594 on EPFO website) whereby instructions ware issued for taking necessary  action by field offices.

As per the said notification members or pensioners of the Employees Pension Scheme 1995 desirous of continuing the benefit of the said scheme are required to furnish proof of the possession Aadhaar Number or required to make an application for Aadhaar Number enrollment by 31st January 2017.

In compliance of directions contained in the said notification, it has been decided that a member must furnish the Aadhaar Number while submitting claim Form under Employees Pension Scheme, 1995 w.e.f. 1st February 2017.

In case, n member has not been allotted Aadhaar Number a copy of his/her Aadhaar Enrollment Slip may be submitted along with the claim form for settlement of claim under EPS, 1995.

Further, if a member has neither got Aadhaar Number not enrolled for Aadhaar Number the field office should provide facility within office premises itself for enrolment of Aadhaar Number and the copy of his / her enrolment slip must be submitted in the claim form.

All pension claims must be Processed for settlement accordingly. It may also kindly be noted that Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India  is closely monitoring the progress of linking Aadhaar Number for Pensioners under Employees Pension Scheme, 1995 through e-samiksha.
