FAQ :
Form 15C is for banking companies or insurers, and Form 15D is for any other person carrying on business or profession in India through a branch. Both forms are used to apply for a certificate authorising the receipt of interest and other sums without deduction of income tax at source.
Applications must be made electronically through the TRACES website (www.tdscpc.gov.in). You will need to log in to your TRACES account, fill out the relevant form, and submit it along with supporting documents using a Digital Signature, Electronic Verification Code, AADHAR based Authentication, or Mobile OTP.
Applicants accessing the TRACES website from outside India must use the NRIservices portal (www.nriservices.tdscpc.gov.in) and submit their application using a Digital Signature only.
You can track the status of your application by logging into the TRACES website and navigating to the 'Statements/Forms' tab, then selecting the 'Track Request for Form 13/15C/15D' option.
Once the certificate is issued, it is the applicant's responsibility to share it with the respective deductor(s).
This new procedure for electronic filing of Form No. 15C and Form No. 15D is applicable from April 1, 2023.
