It is an amendment to the National Savings (Monthly Income Account) Scheme, 2019, made by the Central Government.

The deposit limit has been increased from 'rupees four lakh fifty thousand' to 'nine lakhs', and subsequently from 'nine lakhs' to 'fifteen lakh'.
The previous limit mentioned was 'rupees four lakh fifty thousand'.
The new maximum deposit limit is fifteen lakh rupees.
