FAQ :

The Government of India has launched an electronic platform for the application and issuance of Preferential Certificates of Origin (CoO) for exports to Mauritius under the India-Mauritius Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (IMCECPA).

The electronic filing and issuance of Preferential CoO for India's exports under IMCECPA will be effective from April 1st, 2021.

Exporters will require a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for electronic submissions. This DSC should be Class III and have the firm's Importer Exporter Code (IEC) embedded in it.

New applicant exporters need to register on the CoO e-platform. Passwords will be sent to the email and mobile number of the IEC holder. Existing IEC holders can update their contact details via the 'IEC Profile Management' service on the DGFT website.

The e-CoO system generates an electronic copy with a digital signature. However, exporters can also obtain three paper copies (Original, Duplicate, Triplicate) duly signed in wet-ink by the issuing officer, which can be collected by post or in person.

Further guidance, including a Help manual and FAQs, can be accessed on the landing page at https://coo.dgft.gov.in. For assistance, you can raise a ticket through the DGFT Helpdesk service, call the toll-free numbers, or email coo-dgft@gov.in.
