Unclaimed Money Awareness Drive: Key Camps Scheduled in Mumbai on November 21

State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) Maharashtra, with joint collaboration of Member Banks & other related departments is organizing special drives across the state from 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2025 for the disposal of unclaimed (not claimed) property.

The Initative is flagged off under the guidance of Department of Financial Services, Union Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank of India, with goal to create public awareness regarding deposits, shares, dividends, insurance policies, provident fund amounts, etc., which have remained inactive or unclaimed for a long period in various banks and financial institutions, and to provide rightful claimants with necessary information and guidance.

As part of this initiative, special camps will be organized on 21 November in both Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban districts.

  • The camp for Mumbai City will be held at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Mumbai-21 at 3:00 PM.
  • The camp for Mumbai Suburban will be held at Uttar Bhartiya Sangh, 629/1243 Teachers' Colony, Bandra East, Mumbai-51 at 11:00 AM.

The following services will be provided to citizens through these camps -

1. Information and verification of unclaimed / inactive accounts of various banks.

2. Guidance regarding the claims process and required documents.

3. Opportunity for direct interaction with representatives and officials of the respective banks.

4. Assistance in checking unclaimed property through the online portal.

These camps will help raise awareness among citizens about their financial rights and ensure that inactive property reaches the rightful claimants. Senior officials from the banking sector, district administration representatives, and other concerned institutions will remain present during the camps to provide necessary guidance to citizens.

The State Level Bankers' Committee has appealed citizens to participate in these camps and check for any unclaimed deposits or property belonging to themselves or their family members, and submit their rightful claims.

Special Instructions for Participants

Citizens attending the camps are requested to bring with them:

  • Aadhaar Card / PAN Card,
  • Bank passbook or account number details,
  • Fixed Deposit receipts / deposit certificates (if applicable),
  • Death certificate and inheritance documents (in case of legal heir claims), etc.
