States will receive a total Revenue Deficit Grant of £86,201 crore in the financial year 2022-23.
The third monthly instalment of the Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant, released in June 2022, amounted to £7,183.42 crore.
The 14 states receiving the grant are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.
As of the release of the third instalment, the total Revenue Deficit Grants released to states in 2022-23 has reached £21,550.25 crore.
These Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grants are provided to the states under Article 275 of the Constitution.
The grants have been released as per the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission.
