Fourteen states in India are set to receive a total of Rs. 86,201 crore in Revenue Deficit Grants for the financial year 2022-23. The Department of Expenditure recently released the fourth monthly instalment of Rs. 7,183.42 crore, bringing the total disbursed so far in this financial year to Rs. 28,733.67 crore. These grants are provided based on the recommendations of the Fifteenth Finance Commission to help states bridge the gap in their revenue accounts after devolution.
