Revival of Group for in-house Development of Taxonomies

This has reference to our earlier communication of even number dated 19th January, 2012. The President, in terms of authority given to him at its 314th meeting held from 10th to 12th February, 2012, has revived the Group for in-house development of taxonomies. The Group shall comprise of the following members:-

• CA. Atul Bheda, Convenor
• CA. S. Santhanakrishnan
• CA. K. Raghu
• CA. Pankaj Tyagee

In addition, the following will be the Permanent Special Invitees to the above Group:-

• CA. Gargi Ray, Infosys Industry Domain and Taxonomy
• CA. Jayshree Narayanan [who has prepared the Basic Draft of the publication `XBRL – A Primer’]
• CA. Ravindra Vadali, Domain Expert
• CA. Naveen Garg, Domain Expert
• An official from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs

Dr. Avinash Chander, Technical Director and CA. Ruchika Bachchani, Deputy Secretary from XBRL Secretariat will provide technical support to the said Group.

 

The Terms of Reference of the said Group are as follows:-

• To develop a draft taxonomy for the Commercial and Industrial Companies (C&I) as per the revised Schedule VI to the Companies Act, 1956 and relevant law.
• To develop a taxonomy guide explaining the taxonomy for the convenience of the users.
• The taxonomy in addition to presentation/calculation/label link bases shall comprise of the definition, reference and formula link bases.
• Document the taxonomy.
• Provide a taxonomy viewer so that the same can be viewed in tree hierarchy format.

The group shall develop the draft taxonomy by 31st March, 2012 and expose it for public comments. Thereafter, the same would be placed before the Council for consideration and approval.
