For AY 2021-22, ITR1 accounted for 49.6% (2.92 crore), ITR4 for 27.2% (1.60 crore), ITR3 for 12.1% (71.05 lakh), ITR2 for 9.3% (54.8 lakh), ITR5 for 1.3% (7.66 lakh), ITR6 (2.58 lakh), and ITR7 (0.67 lakh).
Over 45.7% of the ITRs were filed using the online form on the portal, while the rest were uploaded using offline software utilities.
The helpdesk responded to 16,850 taxpayer calls and 1,467 chats. Additionally, the department actively engaged with taxpayers and professionals on Twitter, responding to over 230 tweets on 31st December 2021.
