The Government of India has officially constituted the Hindi Salahkar Samiti (Hindi Advisory Committee) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). The decision was notified through an Extraordinary Gazette publication dated April 23, 2026.
Objective of the Committee
The newly formed committee will play a crucial advisory role in ensuring effective implementation of provisions related to the Official Language Hindi, as laid down in the Constitution, Official Languages Act, and related rules and policies.
Its key function is to guide the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in increasing the use of Hindi in official work, aligning with directives issued by the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Leadership and Composition
The committee will be chaired by the Hon’ble Minister of Corporate Affairs, with the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs serving as the Deputy Chairman.
The Samiti includes a diverse group of members such as:
- Members of Parliament from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
- Representatives from parliamentary committees
- Experts nominated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs
- Members from voluntary organizations
- Officials from the Department of Official Language
Additionally, several senior officials from key institutions like the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) , Competition Commission of India (CCI) , and National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) have been included as ex-officio members, reflecting a broad institutional representation.
Tenure of the Committee
The tenure of the Hindi Salahkar Samiti has been fixed at three years from the date of its constitution. However, Members of Parliament will cease to be members of the committee if they are no longer MPs. Ex-officio members will continue as long as they hold their respective positions.
Allowances and Logistics
Members of Parliament serving on the committee will receive travel and daily allowances as per the Members of Parliament (Salary, Allowances and Pension) Act, 1954 . Other non-official members will be compensated in accordance with government guidelines issued by the Department of Official Language.
The headquarters of the committee will be located in New Delhi , where its meetings will also be conducted.

This initiative highlights the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening the use of Hindi in official communication and administrative processes. By bringing together policymakers, experts, and institutional representatives, the committee is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping language policy execution within the corporate regulatory framework.
The notification has been circulated to all key government bodies, including State Governments, Union Territories, and constitutional authorities, ensuring wide awareness and implementation.
