The Income Tax Department has released the ITR-3 Excel Utility for Assessment Year (AY) 2026-27, enabling taxpayers with income from business or profession to start preparing and filing their income tax returns.
The utility, available in Version 1.0, was released on June 18, 2026, along with the corresponding JSON Schema and Validation Files. The move is expected to benefit a large segment of taxpayers, including business owners, professionals, consultants, freelancers, partners in firms, and traders who are required to file their returns using Form ITR-3.
