The Income Tax Department has enhanced the online filing experience for taxpayers by enabling the Income Tax Return (ITR) forms ITR-1 (Sahaj) and ITR-4 (Sugam) to be filed online with prefilled data. This new feature is now live on the official e-filing portal, making it easier and faster for eligible taxpayers to complete their returns.
The prefilled data includes essential details such as personal information, salary income, bank account details, and tax deductions reported by employers and financial institutions. Taxpayers can review and verify the pre-populated information, make any necessary corrections, and submit their returns without having to manually enter all details from scratch.
