CA Aniket S. Talati has taken over as the 71st President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
President Talati's vision is to make the ICAI the world's leading accounting body and to support the nation's inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economic growth.
He plans to exploit the potential of newer technologies such as AI, Data Analytics, Blockchain, and Cloud Computing to strengthen research and development facilities and enhance the profession.
He sees Chartered Accountants playing a crucial role in propelling India to global economic leadership by advising on economic reforms, supporting MSMEs and startups, and spreading financial and tax literacy.
The Union Cabinet approved the renewal of the qualification reciprocity agreement with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), and ICAI qualification is now recognised for associate membership with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).
The ICAI will soon be celebrating its 75th year, coinciding with India's 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' (75 years of India's Independence), a time to celebrate the profession's journey as trustees of public interest and catalysts for economic development.
