The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has launched an online facility that allows candidates to apply for the surrender of exemptions obtained in CA examinations, including Permanent Exemptions.
The new facility has been introduced as part of ICAI's ongoing efforts to make examination services more accessible and candidate-friendly. Earlier, candidates faced procedural challenges while seeking the surrender of exemptions. With this digital initiative, the entire process can now be completed online through the Self Service Portal (SSP).

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has introduced an online facility to apply for the surrender of exemption obtained (including Permanent Exemption).
This online facility aligns with our continuing commitment to improve the examination process, making it more accessible to the candidates. Candidates who wish to surrender the exemption obtained may do so on the SSP dashboard under Exam Functions, using login credentials as per the below cut-off dates:
- For CA Intermediate, September 2026 Exam: 5th August 2026
- For CA Final November 2026 Exam: 30th September 2026
